PC Need Help: What object is this?

I've been looking all over trying to figure out what in the heck this object is. All that any of the forums can tell is that it's the Crimson altar but I know that's not it. Does anybody know what that canister(?) type thing is?

The picture of a player standing in an underground snow biome? That's two Crimtane Ore tiles.

Yep, that's crimtane ore. It can only be mined with a gold or higher pickaxe. A better way to get it is by killing the Eye of Cthulhu.

yep but you can also mine it with a platinum+ pickaxe
