Mobile Need to re-buy game?

I bought Terraria for android back around 5-8 years ago when minecraft wasnt very big. I then broke that device so couldnt play it. I recently got a new device end of 2016 and decided to redownload to play however it wants me to pay 7$ AUD when i already bought the game years ago on my google/andoid account.
Is there a way for me to be able to play or was the need to repay an intentional move on your part?
