Items new item: carrots!

Carrots would be an item that randomly grow all over the forest it the surface layer as a background object. When broken they will drop 1-2 carrots. Carrots would give you the well fed buff for 2 mins.

Well, carrots already exist in Terraria, but only if you have the physical Collector's Edition of the PC game. It summons a pet bunny.

i know but i mean a food carrot, but it could be a potato or something

I do like the idea of more food in Terraria, but only if it gives something besides the Well Fed buff. There's too many items that already do this, and I feel it would be good if some variety was added to them.

I think it would be cool if they added a chef npc and a cooking mechanic where you obtain certain resistances to debuffs depending on what ingredients you use.

Check out Thorium! It has a food system that is actually unique.
