Items New Mining Tool For Gathering Sand

I think a tool that can gather sand super fast would be really helpful for terraforming and building, here's a design I made:

Desert Terraformer- Crafted With 10 Antlion Mandibles, 25 Sturdy Fossils, and 12 Amber
6 Melee Damage
Very Low Knockback
Very Fast Speed
65% Pickaxe Power
When mining sand, converts all sand blocks above to their collectible state

Instead of having to mine one sand block at a time, the Desert Terraformer essentially mines multiple sand blocks at a time!
If mining too many objects at one time could cause slowing/crashing, It could be altered to only mine a set amount of sand at one time.

I await your opinions and feedback.

i thin kit would be better as a clentaminotar type item, which hardens the sand so it dosent lag when you mine

I like this! Not only would it make it easier to collect sand, but also to flatten deserts (something I do fairly often in my worlds). I support this.

my world doesn't have a desert, but i can see this being an issue for some. so sure, why not

I guess there's not anything wrong with it... I'm just not sure why this is needed. Sand is already easier to to collect in bulk than any other block.
