From what i noticed some npcs will not update there happiness when near someone they like/love dislike/hate. I dont know if this is is all npcs but i have noticed it with the golfer and zoologist and the painter and dryad. There may be more buts thats all i could find so far. They might eventually update but it might take a while. A soulution that i have found is moving them in and out of a house a few times to make them sync up. While this wont always fix it it should help
