Ocean seems to be Generic Caverns for Fishing 3ds

So, I'm playing 3ds right now and for some reason, from the way my jungle has mish-mashed with the corruption, the Eater of Worlds leaves as soon as he spawns so I thought "I can skip the E.o.W if I fish up a Reaver Shark!" and I checked and it DOES appear in 1.2.4, so I went fishing at my oceans but all I'm fishing out are Bass, Stinkfish, Specuarfish, and Armored Cavefish none of the Ocean specific fish like shrimp or more importantly Reaver Sharks. So is there any fix to this, or should I just try another world? -note the regular ocean mobs such as orcas and jellyfish still spawn
 
Make platforms all the way to the edge of the Ocean Biome
 
Or go to the otherside of the world.
 
Ever figure anything out? I still can't seem to fish any ocean biome fish, no matter what I try.
