Biomes & Nature Plantera bulb spawn rate increase

So I am having trouble finding plantera bulbs. Can anyone give me advise about how to find more? I have found two in this world in about 10 hours just searching for them and died both times.
Here are the things I have done to try to find it .
1: Make hellavators through the jungle every 30 blocks.
2: Steamroll through all tunnels to try and find them.
3: Deafeat all mechanical bosses again to make sure.
4: Blow things up in anger.
Any tips or tricks to find it?
Also I would like to make a suggestion to the devs Please increase the bulb spawn rate.
 
Digging Hellevators in the Jungle is actually very counter-productive, because you decrease the amount of horizontal surfaces there are. And Bulbs can't spawn in mid-air.
Dig long horizontal tunnels instead and blitz through all of them. Eventually you will find one.
 
It's especially painful on console because EVERY ambient background object is shown on the map as a pink square. JUST LIKE THE BULBS ARE.
 
I built a humongous arena and I had bulbs spawn there quite often. If your jungle is compact then you will have hard time finding one so spread it out more, I suppose.
 
Thank you all for your suggestions. Through them I have found a bulb and have deafeated plantara.
