Recommended profile banner size?

Is there any recommended profile banner size? I don't wanna spend time making one and then find out it's a terrible aspect ratio or too small...

If you’re looking for a specific size, 1178 x 250 normally does the trick nicely.

However, it can be any size, and when you upload your image, it will give you a clipping box to indicate what portion of it to display. I’d recommend uploading the image as it is now, to see the clipping feature in play to get a feel for it, then just cancel out. Then you can create your banner in a certain size if needed.
