I'm having an issue in-game where I am creating a garden, and have a clay pot on a glass platform, w/ an extra space of clearance above the pot, and then the next glass platform above that. I've been able to play blinkroot and daybloom with this setup, but when I tried to plant the shiverthorn seeds, I went through 10 seeds, and it looked like the item was just disintegrating (little blue things like when you hit the plant, but the flower wasn't planted in the pot) I ended up losing all 10 seeds without a single shiverthorn getting planted. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

Sadly that is a bug. You can only plant them in Snow Blocks.
Your lucky I went through 40 shiver thorn seeds before giving up
