Mage already has a lot of weapons across all stages of progression. They all fill different roles as that is what the class specializes in. It does not need more weapons as it is now.

Plus this isn't very specific, you are just asking for more weapons without giving any ideas.

Ugh
This again
I understand they're filler, but why melee?
Why add them in the first place?
Melee has a ron of different routes you can go on
(Yoyos, maces, swords, or spears, ETC)
Mage has much fewer different options at any stage of the game

Example: pre-mechs.

Melee, you have:
Shadowflame knife
Bananarang
You still can use the night's edge
Beam sword
Ice sickle
Frostbrand
Drippler crippler
Dao of Pow
And that omitting the multitude of different yoyos

Mage you have:
Crystal vile shard
Crystal serpent
Crystal storm
Venom staff
3 out of the 4 come from the Hallow.
If theres gonna be only a few options, at least make them obtainable in different ways.

You forgot:
Sky Fracture, Meteor Staff, Life Drain, Clinger Staff, Frost Staff, Flower of Frost, Laser Rifle, Orange Zapinator (I guess, if you're lucky), Cursed Flames, Golden Shower, Ice Rod, Magic Dagger, Medusa Head, Spirit Flame, Shadowflame Hex Doll, Blood Thorn, and Nimbus Staff. All of those are pre-mech. Also, Venom Staff is post-mechs, but Poison Staff is pre-mech, and I assume you meant that.

I understand that you're upset that Melee has so many weapons, but don't misrepresent the options that Magic has.

It is worth remembering that not all warrior weapons are mentioned here (only the most popular ones). You, however, listed all the magician's weapons listed on the wiki.
Half of these weapons are useless or are used in a specific way (apart from the fact that some are difficult to obtain and then you can throw them away after defeating the Bosses).

It's good that at least the summoner has plenty of hardmode options.

Haha. Well, all warrior weapons (especially, of course, weapons like ore swords) are of course extremely useful, unique, and really worthy alternatives to other weapons?

Didn't we already have a discussion about this? Didn't we?
And I don't remember that in that discussion you overwhelmed everyone with evidence of "extremely high variation of a warrior" and "extremely low variation of a mage". The actual variability of a mage is by no means lower than that of a warrior.

Look, mage isn't extremely lacking,
But i was at least trying to think of the weapons that weren't outclassed almost instantly after getting them

Most of those are very weak options
Clinger staff and nimbus rod are support weapons, they dont Really count as magic weapons

The mage weapons i listed were off the top of my head, and at least they weren't all mediocre
Weapons
Gradient, Amarok, Chik, Chain Guillotines, Hel-Fire, Dao of Pow, Bladetounge, Ice Sickle, Bananarang, Fetid Baghnakhs, Shadowflame Knife, Sergeant United Shield, Drippler Crippler, Flying Knife, Ham Bat
and if you're talking all, instead of just viable options, which you are, because Medusa head is on here:
the hardmode ore swords and spears
(totals to 12)
even if they are useless, that is almost the amount of viable mage weapons in pre-mechs
obsidian swordfish
Breaker Blade
code-2
KO cannon
