Items Solar Eruption is just too loud...

If I understand that correctly you'd need to keep sliding it to increase/decrease volume whenever you swap a weapon that makes too much noise/not enough noise. Not really a clean solution, especially when the proper solution really is a simple one.

The problem with the "Proper Solution", is that there are multiple weapons that are like this. Do we tweak the sound for every single weapon in the game, then...?

What about the people who enjoy the weapon being loud?

It's obvious some sounds are way off, you know that or you wouldn't have started this thread.
If people like these loud weapon sounds they can just increase the sound volume so all sounds become loud. The most important thing in my opinion is that every sound is equalized/normalized/has the same peak decibel. And that's not much to ask for. Having sounds with a different volume level in a game is, well, sloppy. :)

True... I still woulda liked the weapon sound slider tho, lol. But ah well.

I have to further support this Terraria has so many great tracks and ambient sound effects now that these weapons have become overbearingly loud. and as many of them were previously fine before their sound effects were changed. While the sounds themselves aren't bad they currently are too loud compared to other items causing them to reduce the ambient feel of Terraria thus making the game less engageing

My sound isn't very loud, but the weapons is much more noisy than other weapons. So support.

For Melee, Such as.......?

No other weapon in the game comes close to the Solar Eruption's damage output for Melee users.
Meowmere, Starwrath, you could still pull out the Terrablade, Paladins Hammer, a lot of other things. This is almost as bad as those people back in 1.2.4 who would freak out at anyone for using anything other then the Flairon. Believe it or not, actually getting something that isn't click n' spam is an option.

But the Solar Eruption is still incredible. Of all those weapons, none of them can pierce walls except the Solar Eruption (except maybe Terra Blade projectile? I forget).

The problem is, the weapons you mention do not do anywhere near as much damage (especially in groups of mobs) as the Solar Eruption is capable of doing, nor can any of these go through walls that I know of.

The Solar Eruption is THE weapon of mass destruction for melee, and it works pretty good on single target tanky enemies too (it destroys Biome Mimics, Paladins, etc in seconds!)

I can't think of anything the Solar Eruption DOESN'T work good on, except for maybe something like Fishron? I haven't tried him with it, but he might be a little too fast for the Eruption to really get on him good.

Nope. TB does not go through walls whatsoever. Not even if you stand right up against it, unlike Scourge of the Corruptor.

I would still use Meowmere over it, it has a massive damage output.

Not that I've seen? The only thing that Meowmere has over it is range and the bouncing cats that you can use to richochet off of walls.

You DO realize that the Solar Eruption hits TWICE, right?

When you hit an enemy with it, you ALSO get an AoE explosion that hurts that enemy + all other enemies next to it AND sets them on solar fire for 5HP/sec?

I think a lot of people don't realize it hits twice with every contact. If you swing it and you hit 5 enemies, you get the 5 contact hits, and each enemy then gets hit with explosions. The damage it does to groups of enemies is just out of this world ridiculous.

It can reduce Golem to scrap metal in ~10 seconds.
Flying Dutchman doesn't even last 5 seconds, unless I somehow miss when trying to jump and swing at it.

Meowmere has a lot of penetration, If I remember correctly... And if you want to do massive spread damage just use the Solar armor.

Or..... use Solar Armor AND Solar Eruption, y'know?

And Meowmere's cats penetrate, yes, they 1). have an arc, 2). can be reflected back at you by mimics and selenians, 3). can bounce in unpredictable ways, and 4). won't bounce unless they hit walls which makes them in open-air combat not very good.

I never actually realized how loud some of the sounds were. I turned down the volume a few time when using the solar eruption though, so I see where you're coming from. A lot of sounds really could use some adjusting though.

Woah, :red:, really?! That's, like, on par or better than a full-charge Last Prism.

Basically, use a solid wall between you and golem with 3 block gap to run under it. Spawn him, run through the gap and start swinging so that you hit both of his fists AND his head at the same time (you might need a platform or something to stand up a few blocks to get the right angle).

His fists should be gone in bout 3-4 seconds, his head follows 2-3 seconds later, and then his body lasts about 4-5 seconds.

I could even record a quick video for lulz.

Meaning that they are better used in closed combat, like in caves or dungeon.
