PC [SOLVED] Flame traps vs. Geysers

Flame traps. As though they can be hammered to shoot in any direction, have higher damage output, and can inflict the on fire! debuff.

But can't geysers go through blocks? And I'm pretty sure they linger longer than flame traps.

They don't go through block, and as far as I know they have the same range and lasting time as flame traps. They also do like half as much damage. The only real problem with flame traps is that they are kinda rare, but if that's not an issue, use them.

Correct. They do, however, shoot through solid tiles immediately above them, so you can place them, eg, under a solid floor, and it will still work.

Which one is more optimal for an arena? Or should I use both?
Depends on the size of your arena. If it's a small spawn area, then flame traps coming in from the sides should do the job.

If it's larger though, you can have the geysers below the areas the Flame Traps can't hit.

Alternatively: Have the geysers set to trigger while the Flame Traps are on cooldown.

I say geysers.
They're my personal favorite.
I use them in my Pirate Invasion Farm for quicker kills
