I was wondering, Why not have a summon item that makes a little wisp dude, and thats exactly what I did.
Spirit Staff
Damage: 21 (Defense might ruin this)
Mana cost: 9
Use time: Fast
Knockback: 0
"Summons a Spirit to attack rapidly."
Base summons: 2 (You can summon two when you get it before bonuses)
To craft: 12 Ectoplasm and 8 Chlorophyte Bars
This guy (A smaller wisp) shoots a endless stream of
's at a close range
While low in damage, it attacks rapidly and in numbers. I would place the detection range at about 8-10 tiles, however had to move at least to 4-6 tiles to attack. If they are not aggro'd they will drift around your player.
This weapon would be particularly effective against things with low defenses. however if the defense is over 40 the wisps will deal one damage, Which I would say is a fair cutoff point.
If you think this is unbalanced, please suggest a value. Also I welcome you to challenge my ideas.
