Hiya! It's been awhile, hasn't it? Time for alt biome #3! This time around, I have created an alternate to the Jungle. As always I hope you enjoy it! And you can always glance over the thing, as there are lots of sprites.

Due to the similar theme, chlorophyte and its equipment will remain the same, Moonglow and Life Fruit will stay, and there will be beehives as well, so honey would still be obtainable in this kind of world.

The home to sentient plants, fairies, and monstergirls, doing monstergirl stuff. You'll find fields of flowers and clusters of wisteria trees in this flora haven. A mystical, peaceful land where no one has to die.. but then you come along. The children of Wysteria won't stop at any cost to keep their home safe and free of evil.

This time we have two warriors facing off against the magical creatures of the Gully. Wisteria trees of various colors can be found along the surface and deep underground, where the occasional living wisteria tree can be discovered, among several other new things to play with and devious monstergirls to keep an eye out for.

Over time the Gully will be updated. Not everything has been alt'd quite yet but the majority is. Now then, enough rambling and let's get on with the content!

    "The Gully grows restless.."
As you come across a defenseless Wysteria Sapling [IMG], you decide, for whatever reason, to kill it with your pix pickaxe. You experience a strange sensation.. the grass around your feet seems to be reaching for you, tying your legs down. The faint sound of rustling leaves and crackling branches resonates from above. Massive thorny vines shoot down around you, circling around to trap you.

The screen slowly tints a deep green. An ominous presence looms down above you.. it's a giant tree with a woman's face. "Give my child back..." she speaks with a deep, earthy voice. But it's already murdered.

    Wysteria has awoken!

    Mr. Photoshop, meet Ms. Paint

Wysteria transforms when under half health, or when the three bulbs are destroyed, or when the player leaves the Gully. Being pulled out will increase firing speed and damage will be doubled.

    Wysteria
    Head HP: 40,000
    Defense: 40-0
    Damage: 70

    Yellow Bulb HP: 6,000
    Defense: 10
    Damage: 40

    Cyan Bulb HP: 7,000
    Defense: 8
    Damage: 44

    Magenta Bulb: 5,000
    Defense: 10
    Damage: 50

    Drops:
    • Ruins Key [IMG] 100%
    • Pygmy Staff 25%
    • Termination [IMG] 14.29% (100% first time with Rocket 1s)
    • Glade Blade [IMG] (30-50) 14.29%
    • Pistil Automata [IMG] 14.29%
    • Flower Pow 14.29%
    • Leaf Blower 14.29%
    • Seedler 14.29%
    • Nettle Burst 14.29%
    • Thorn Hook 5%
    • Wysteria Mask 14.29%
    • Wysteria Trophy 10%

During the battle, the player is trapped within the spiky vine ring. Touching it will harm you and inflict poison, and venom in enraged state. It traps you in, limiting your mobility, though Wysteria very slowly moves with you. Nearby players outside the ring will be lashed in with a vine, similar to the Wall of Flesh's tongue.

Each bulb will fire seeds at you while sliding around on the ring. Wysteria's head will remain at the top, as pink and purple petals gently drift down at the player. She has high health and defense, but if the bulbs are taken out, her defense drops to 0.

Your hands are coated lightly in pollen.

    "I'LL END YOU!"

Realizing her child is dead, Wysteria stops holding back. The bulbs open up into indestructible giant flowers, now spraying deadly spores out that seek the player. Vine whips will also lash out in a straight line, remaining for some time to temporarily block off part of the arena. Wysteria will begin spewing spinning glade blades around, which bounce off the vine ring 8 times before poofing.

She'll continue attacking full force until you kill her.

Due to image restrictions, the rest of the Gully suggestion is in the post below.

WOW. Okay... Came back to the forum just to check in and I found this. Probably won't be very active, but I just have to post to say this is amazing.

This looks great! I love the bright colors and all the thought you've obviously put into it and the sprites look amazing. If this was in the game, you'd have a hard time getting me out of the area  I'd have built up an enchanted woodland empire.

    Another Snickerbobble biome suggestion! Huzzah!

I only have one question after reading this suggestion, and that is what wysteria's boss theme is. I'd assume she just uses plantera's. Can't wait til you feel like making the ruins. :3

    Textual Errors :
    - Moss Slime Description (They're)
    - Wysteria Description (Entangle your legs down)?? (But it's already murdered)

Wow... there sure are quite a few undertale references...

Another awesome suggestion Snickerbobble! I love the how the biome wasn't originally hostile place. The mini-plot thingy you do with the bosses in your suggestions is a nice touch. I can't wait to see what else you add! :)

    Magic Sponge Terrarian

Another great biome suggestion! I seriously love this, the color scheme and fantasy setting are amazing. Can't wait to see the rest of it.

One thing though, Wysteria should be able to drop the Pygmy Staff or a Gully-brand summon weapon so Summoners don't get screwed over on Gully worlds. Other than that, great job!

Thank ya! [IMG] Check back now and then if you like, I'll likely give this thing a few updates as I try to juggle my other biomes.

I put a few weeks on this.. though with lots of breaks :p Thank you, I hope to include more blocks and some minions to help you out there [IMG]

    Thanks [IMG]

I thought I had one awhile ago but I can't remember.. I'll have to search around some to find one. And I hope to complete the Ruins, I would have finished it first but I got too excited to post :p

Moss Slime typo fixed.. sometimes I start a sentence but decide to change it and don't go back enough :p

As for the entangled legs, it's suppose to be the grass/flowers holding you down, but it's really just some flavor text to make the read a little more interesting.

Eheheh.. what can I say.. I love the game, it touched a soft spot in me, and monsters and flowers fit in so well. I'll try to throw in some refs from others games in some updates though [IMG]

Monstergirl mimic? :p Though I think I will put that off for now, at least the Jungle one, as it's possible they may be implementing it and its drops in 1.3.1.

There are a lot, yes. Not sorry! :p

Thank you! And maybe it's the same with all of Terraria.. we invade and kill and steal just to become stronger and repeat. We might be the most evil beings in Terraria [IMG]

More, more? Did I hear more? I'll add more if people want more. :p

Oops, I guess I forgot to list that. Though I do wish to make unique replacements for an update.. except maybe the Flower Pow, as it fits the theme so well. Thanks! [IMG]

I've got a few enemy concepts and a few more block ideas, hope to get an update out soon. [IMG] Thanks everyone for the support so far!

Wouldn't this need a beehive alternate aswell?

This is an awesome idea but there should be more unique items and when the boss reaches 2nd form it should change a bit more, the leaves maybe? flowers open up? and a few more enemies wouldn't hurt. If its a fairy biome their should be some walking trees and such and more fairy creatures. Also i agree, a beehive alternate is needed and would be really sweet (no pun intended)

Hooray, first update! Added and changed a few things on this one:

    • Added caterpillar critter, it looks hungry.. [IMG] [IMG]
    • Four types of dragonflies will appear in the Gully [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
    • Water spiders/skeeters can sometimes be found floating on water [IMG] [IMG]
    • Each critter has a banner, because I like banners [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] (Good luck with that golden one!)
    • The alternate turtle shell, dragon scales [IMG], can be crafted into dragonscale blocks for shiny shingles for your home [IMG] [IMG]
    • Moss clumps [IMG] can be placed as blocks [IMG] [IMG]
    • Bramble bits [IMG] can also be placed but can hurt you! [IMG] [IMG]
    • Forgot to list them, but updated the Mushroom Stem Blocks [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
    • Meet the newest member to the Gully Gang, Alraune, who will lash vines to pull you in and try to eat you! [IMG]
    • And a banner for her as well [IMG]
    • Made some corrections and tweaks to the main posts

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't plan on it and just left beehives alone, so they would appear in both Jungle and Gully worlds, however after thinking about it I might have a suitable alternate that I'll whip up in a later update :p

Thanks! I do want to go over the boss sprite again, mainly the ring as it's just a perfect circle right now, not too viney or detailed. Flowers will be a pain to edit closed for the first form but I did consider it, I may get to it. Unless you meant the giant bulbs, which.. I forgot to sprite blooming, oops. For an update :p

Over time I will try to add in more unique items and enemies. Hope you like the newest one :p

    Stunning, as always.
One question though; How did you come up with the biome's name?

If it is a reference to Undertale or anything, please forgive my obliviousness, I haven't played the game at all

Ahh, nope, that would be from Ferngully, a movie from my childhood. I've got a few refs from it in this, with at least one more on the way.

Gotta say it, I love this idea, it feels like the hallow with more nature. I like it.

The ideas of the enemies are interesting.
The references and puns made me laugh at them, that bloomerang tho.
Also a thumbs up for the sprites, You've really put the effort in it.

The boss itself is a great concept that I really feel like missing in the game, a boss itself as the fight room.
The ring itself is...plain...but I can understand with the massive sprite that it takes too much for it.
I imagine that it's a lot of vines/leaves forming a ring, that would be much neater to look at.

Overall, a great suggestion that I love to imagine in game, good job on it! :)
