Stuck on connecting to server.

First of all, this is my first time here so my bad if this is in the wrong space.
My friends set up a server using port forwarding but for me im just stuck on the "Connecting to Ip" Screen.
This also happens when trying to connect to Dedicated servers.
My firewalls dont appear to be blocking anything.
