Terrarian
I really like the richness of weapons design in Terraria. In each process to choose a different type of weapon, you can get a different game experience. But some types of weapons seem too weak, such as Spears: weapons that trade attack coverage for range.
As the game enters Hard Mode, most melee weapons gain the ability to attack from a distance, which makes the spear's range no longer an advantage, and the slightly worse melee feel is preserved, the end result is that behind the Wall of Flesh, spears are almost useless.
In my opinion, there are at least three ways to change the awkward situation of Spears:
A. To further enhance the long-range advantages of spears. Increase the range and speed of projectiles, or even make all spears throw like the Scourge of the Corruptor/Daybreak.
B. Improved melee handling. The best option is to recreate the spear's attack mode (see the flail treatment) , but if the former is too much work, it will at least increase the spear's swing speed (close to the dagger) .
C. Add strong exclusive accessories (see Yo-yo).
Finally, since Night's Edge and Excalibur can be combined into more advanced equipment, why not combine Dark Lance and Gungnir into something fun?
