Terraria can't create files?

My brother is playing on a very old and slow computer, so we were trying to play i on our mother's laptop, but everytime we launch the game it says it can't create the Players folder. So I created the folder manually and I could continue, but then it could't create the Worlds folder, so again I made the folder myself but now it can't create the favorites.j something. I don't know what to do at this point, I've installed this game on 3 compuers and never had a problem before.

Specifically, the section "Crashing when reaching the main menu, making worlds/players, saving worlds/players, texture packs, etc". There are some steps you can try to resolve the issue. The problem usually stems from file sync or anti-virus programs blocking Terraria. Please try the steps outlined in the thread and lets us know how it goes.
