I have been playing terraria for years and i have noticed that the in-game font doesn't fully supports spanish accents (á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ) and i guess it's the same for other languages with diacritics (some examples below)

i checked online and found out that andy bold does fully supports these special characters. So, is the in-game version of the font outdated? or is it some sort of a bug?

(as you can see here the é doesn't look right, it kinda looks like comics sans)

(here you can see that the font online does supports this special character)

("maná" looks really bad with two different a's)

(proper diacritics)

(same thing happens in portuguese)

(and on the website it's completely supported)

I don't know for sure that this is the situation, but there are many different sources for fonts, including Andy Bold. Not every one of them are the same or full implementation.

Some versions are free to use and distribute, and I'm 99.9999% sure that Terraria uses one of those, though I don't know which one.

Fonts.com is a paid/licensed source, and your examples seem to indicate that they have a more complete implementation than what Terraria uses. It is probably not cost-effective to license the complete font for 25M+ copies of the game.

(This is not an official response, just my guess/opinion at what is happening)
