Game Mechanics Terraria x Shadow Trick - A very interesting new game mechanic!

- CONTEXT -

For those who don't know Shadow Trick, it's a small game where your character can switch between the normal world and the shadow world.
In the game, we use this mechanic to get past obstacles, because in shadow mode we can step on shadows as if they were solid blocks.
-
I thought it would be interesting to add a similar mechanic to Terraria, but instead of moving to the shadow layer, we move to the background walls layer.
Take a look at the idea!
------------------------------------------------------------

- IDEA -

With the use of an accessory, called "Layer Switcher", our player can switch between the block layer and the wall layer.
-
The block layer is the normal layer that we are all familiar with.
The wall layer refers to the walls that we place in the background when building a house.
It also includes the walls that are naturally generated in the world.
-
When in the wall layer, our character will be able to collide with them as if they were a solid block.
Also, in this layer, the player will pass behind normal blocks.
-
The player cannot switch between layers if they are inside a wall or block.

------------------------------------------------------------

- CONCLUSION -

This mechanic could revolutionize the game, especially parkour maps.
It could also bring more additional content, such as elements that are only interactable on the wall layer.
Interacting with enemies on the wall layer is something to think about.

Very creative

LittleBigPlanet reference???

Anyways, this is a very interesting idea, but I'm not too sure how it would function in, say, the cavern layer, where there are tons of foreground blocks, but next to no background walls.

dont use it in the cavern layer, it would probably be used for builders.

Interesting Idea but would the block layer cover up the player while in the foreground?

I say have the player fall through the normal blocks when having the thing on and because he is behind everything he is behind trees and blocks and furniture and stuff like that too.

How does this answer my question about the difficulty of seeing what you're doing?
