PC The Importance of Flasks

Do you play as a Warrior a lot? Do you love getting into people's faces? Do you LOOOVE setting people on fire, inject them with venom, and make them explode with confetti? Flasks are here to do all of your melee needs!

Flasks are kinda like potions: they last for a limited amount of time, and they give you buffs. Each flask lasts for 15 minutes, and they only work with melee weapons. You can only make flasks with an Imbuing Station: a crafting station sold by the Witch Doctor NPC. You can only use ONE flask at a time. Keep this info in mind while reading this!

Flask of Poison: You need 5 stingers and a bottled water in order to make this flask. If you hit an enemy while this Flask is in action, it will inflict poison on the one being hurt! Poison damages enemies over time.

Flask of Fire: In order to get this flask, you need 5 Hellstone and a Bottled Water. This Flask makes enemies be on fire! A good way to create a flame war.

Flask of Venom: To get this, you need 5 Vials of Venom and a Bottled Water. The Vials of Venom are sold by the Witch Doctor after defeating Plantera. This flask is a DIRECT upgrade to the Flask of Poison. Pretty useful!

Flask of Gold: This flask is crafted with 5 Gold Dust and 1 Bottled Water. In order to get Gold Dust, it is sold by the Merchant in hardmode. This flask inflicts the Midas debuff on foes, making them drop more gold in death. If you're greedy, this is the flask for you!

Flask of Ichor: The Flask of Ichor is created with 5 Ichor and a Bottled Water. This flask inflicts the Ichor debuff on enemies, making them take more damage than usual. (NOTE: The Flask of Ichor is only obtainable in worlds with the Crimson biome.)

Flask of Cursed Flames: This flask is made with 5 Cursed Flames and a Bottled Water. This is a DIRECT upgrade to the Flask of Fire. The Cursed Flames burn down your enemies, even if they jump into water! (NOTE: The Flask of Cursed Flames is only obtainable in worlds with the Corruption biome.)

Flask of Nanites: This flask is crafted with 5 Nanites and a Bottled Water. Nanites are sold by the Cyborg NPC. This flask confuses enemies, making them go in completely different directions, helping for a distraction.

Flask of Party: This flask is made with 5 Confetti and a Bottled Water. Confetti is sold by the Party Girl. This makes enemies EXPLODE WITH CONFETTI! Completely useless, but completely awesome!

Thanks for reading this thread! If I had a typo, or if I should improve on anything, please, do leave your feedback! :D

Great for melee users (I prefer magic) but you should probably have named the thread flaskes not the importance of flaskes.

Uhh, yeah. He even misspelled "Flasks". TC, don't bother heeding his words. The title is fine.

Anyway, you neglected to mention a player can only use one flask at any given time. Using another will replace the previous effect.

The only useful flask is Ichor.
Name 5 people who still play melee on Corrupt worlds.
Other flasks are just an extra 5 or 10 DPS, which doesn't matter at the time that they are obtainable.

The Gold Flask is very useful for money farming and the Nanite Flask can be used to help deal with Fighter AI enemies as seen in invasions like the Pirate Invasion. You don't need a Crimson world to play melee, I've done it several times on a corruption world. I will admit that there are a few extra items like the Vampire Knives and said flask would be very attractive for a melee user, but it doesn't make it impossible or less intelligible to run melee on a Corruption world. They both have advantages.

Cursed flame and On Fire! can coexist. You just need a magma stone or an accessory forged from it. For extra fun, add Frost Armor which lets you inflict Cursed Flame, On Fire! and Frostburn at the same time. The Cursed Flames flask is the only way to achieve this.
