Biomes & Nature The Mechanical Biome

MechaShockwave515

Skeletron Prime
I actually posted this idea around a day before the forums switched to the .org version, figured I would post it here.

So this biome ideas is based around the mechanical bosses, the destroyer, skeletron prime and the twins ( or at least the second phase of the twins )
The biome would obviously be a hardmode biome which would spawn in after the three bosses have been defeated and would not spread like the corruption or crimson it would be in its set boundaries and could only be spread if you place the biomes blocks.

What does it look like?

The ground blocks would appear like a rusted metal with stone blocks being replaced by newer looking metal blocks, ores would not be replaced and will remain, any water in the biome would take on a black/dark brown colour to look like oil. Any tree's would be replaced with power pylon's some in working order and other in disrepair.

The background of the biome would look like a scrapyard, among the piles of metal will be destroyed and dismantled pieces of the hard mode bosses you defeated.

Biome specific mobs?

I still need to think this one out a bit more but I have two possible idea's one of which is just a slightly bigger version of the destroyers probes, the other would be a terminator looking mob, some unarmed, others armed with a laser weapon. ( maybe even a red version as a reference to that one robocop VS terminator level )

NPC's?

I have no original NPC idea's but I do have an idea that in this biome you will meet the cyborg NPC, however he will be deactivated and you will have to reactivate him, much like how you wake up the fisherman or untie the wizard and mechanic.

And that's all I have so far. I am open to suggestions and idea's to flesh it out more. :)

This is really more of a wishlist than a suggestion. Also, why do we need a "mechanical biome"? It just doesn't seem necessary.

No no. its more of a suggestion than a wishlist, a wishlist is usually a list of thing we want where a suggestion is something we throw out there which either becomes a thing or not, as such I am making the suggestion of a mechanical biome.

Also it doesn't seem necessary? have you played terraria recently? we have alien invasions, a giant mechanical worm, duke fishron and unicorns. that part of your comment could literally cover all the things we have in the game up till now.

You actually just gave a bare-bones explanation of what the biome would look like and what might spawn in it, but ok.

But all of those things actually work in gameplay and have a purpose. Why do we need a mechanical biome?

Nice idea, I like the concepts of how the blocks change and stuff :)

But, one thing....

.... NEVER....

...EVER!!!!

Capitalize plurals.

Thanks ;)

I think that a mechanical biome would be nice. I think we need more different biomes with differents themes.

I don't know much about the biome so I can't give my support, yet I can tell you that suggestions do not have to be "necessary" which is why we have things like 3 Hermes Boots equivalents and vanity items for example. But I would definitely recommend thinking of mobs and obtainable loot and the blocks that make up the biome before submitting it just so people have an idea of what you mean!

I thinks an ok suggestion and needs great amounts of detail and would be hard to fit into smaller worlds where space is very limited for biomes (coming from me) but besides that i think its a great idea.

The concept of this biome is fresh and inventive, but feels too similar to the Cyber suggested by @Zoomo .
The biome also doesn't seem to fit a theme. While it may solve the story about the mechanical bosses, it...doesn't work with the Hallow, Crimson, or Corruption.
