Weapons & Equip The Old Flail Mechanic as a New Weapon

I would like to see Relogic add back the old flail mechanics in some capacity. Maybe add a new special flail hard mode weapon that uses the old mechanics or add the ability to swap between the "firing mode" of the flails that were previously reworked.

It was fun dragging a flail around as an entirely unique experience among all other weapons in the game. It was one of, if not the only weapon in the game that could be controlled through the player's movements.

Making sharp turns and slingshotting the flail around the player's character is something I miss and hope is added back to terraria before Relogic moves on to future projects.

A good name for the new flail would be Old Unreliable. as it was anything, but reliable. However, I still loved it all the same.
 
I don’t remember the old flail, but this isn’t the first post where someone has asked for it back so my curiosity is piqued.
old flail just flew outwards towards the Cursor similarly like the Flairon, but the longer you held the attack button, the further out the flail went. if you held it to it's climax or let go and clicked again immediately after, the flail would enter a "dead state" where it would hit the ground and trail behind the character, not retracting if it reaches it's limit, being dragged along instead

Ok cool. But holding down the attack button on current flails makes them drop and stay there as well. They will retract if you get to far away, but that isn’t usually an issue.

Yeah, they could have left that functionality in the game, I'm not sure why they didn't.
Though it has been a long time since I've used the old flail so I can't remember if the way it was previously controlled conflicted with its current rendition.
