The Pros and Cons of Rotten Eggs

Anybody who's anybody knows that rotten eggs are a very common drop from goodie bags during the Halloween event, but sometimes they aren't very... how do you say... useful. So I decided to make a list of the pros and cons of the rotten egg, as seen in the title.

Pros
Good for a pre-hardmode ranged weapon.
Can kill NPCs. (But takes a while.)
Semi-useful against flying enemies.
Cons
Horrible for virtually anything else
11 Damage. (Hardmode enemies are invulnerable towards this.)
No sell value.
Tiny
Ugly

All in all,
ROTTEN EGGS ARE HORRIBLE.

am confus. why would you throw rotten eggs at people? that's real mean, you should stop it.
i've never been given rotten eggs when trick-or-treating, where are you doing it?
and of course no-one would buy rotten eggs, they're rotten! you can't make anything good with rotten eggs!

Actually, with shroomite armor, rotten eggs really wreck NPCs. Pretty useful when those jerks keep being in front of chests.
