Mac tmodloader stuck on finding mods

i switched to terraria on pc recently and did a vanilla playthrough,after completing it i felt a bit bored with vanilla terraria and wanted to try mods,but whenever i open tmodloader it's just stuck on finding mods,even though i didn't download any mods yet,the only thing i can do i press cancel and crash the game,i should also mention that i'm using the steam tmodloader,i have also reinstalled the game but it didnt work,please help

Hold Left Shift while the game is booting up to skip loading mods. This will at least get you to the main menu.

ok i tried this but it didnt work i held left shift after i saw the relogic logo
