Unusual Bubble Block Lava/Water Interaction

I was testing out a water duplication mechanism yesterday, and I made an unusual discovery. Bubble blocks do not allow liquid to pass through them, and can thus be used to reroute the flow of liquids, and contain them in a way that doesn't impede foot traffic. Liquids can also be stored in the bubble itself, though it will be destroyed upon reloading the world.

What may not be such common knowledge is that if lava is placed into a bubble that is submerged in water, a significant portion of water will be destroyed, before a block of obsidian forms below the block. The obsidian sometimes appears to have lava behind it, though if mined, the lava will sputter out without forming any additional obsidian.

if bubble is placed at ground you can remove all water above (if not too large, ocean wont work).
For this (placed at ground) you can also use e.g. crystal shards. But bubble might remove water faster because it can also remove water to the left and right.
