Im trying to make a spear but I don't know what the "useStyle" for a spear is. Can anyone help me?
Experiment. 1 is the over-the-head swinging useStyle, and 5 is the gun/staff useStyle. It's either somewhere in between, 6 or 7.
There aren't that many useStyle options to begin with, so shouldn't be difficult.

[EDIT] The reason is shares it with a gun is because you can actually change it so holding out the gun hurts people, as well as the ammo. I might have to make a gun-spear hybrid...
It could just be the sprite... maybe.It's certainly not 5, I tried that and the spear was floating 3 blocks away from me.

Spears don't have an useStyle. They are projectiles that are pulled out and then dragged back in before disappearing.
