Game Mechanics What if "Confused" caused enemies to deal collateral damage to eachother?

What if "Confused" completely lost the movement-inversion mechanic and instead made it so an affected enemy dealt incidental damage to other enemies, whether by ranged crossfire or melee contact?

This could be an interesting debuff to use in crowd-control situations, as a swarming horde of confused enemies could potentially wipe itself out if large and compact enough.

I also like the idea of Goblin Warriors getting caught in the crossfire of Goblin Archers, or a Giant Tortoise knocking a Hornet out of the air while launching itself towards you.

Might also be interesting to make this type of confusion contagious, where a confused enemy striking another enemy has a chance of confusing that enemy as well.

Naturally, all bosses and mini-bosses should be immune to it (but certainly not immune to the damage its confused minions might be dishing out lol).

Thoughts?

That would make less enemies have immunity to this Debuff since it messes with the AI, especially with the bosses' unique ones. I'd actually like to see some bosses be affected by it as well.
