does anyone know a good way to get a blade staff? how big should it be and what should i use to kill the enemies?

In reverse order -- whatever you can kill them with, big enough for you to move around, and persistence and tenacity (and to not go "Ok, it's 1/35 odds, I killed 35, it hasn't dropped yet, it's bugged.")
In short -- kill the enchanted swords that drop it with whatever you've got that does decent/good damage, and have a big enough area in the underground hallow to dodge if you need to.

i was just about to set up a farm and my summons killed an enchanted sword when I wasn't looking and it dropped the staff!!

I've killed over 100 and haven't gotten the staff 
I'm going for an all items collection and I think it might be the only weapon I don't have. Just gotta keep farming I guess...
