I dont have a favourite nor do I believe in them. Generally I see an album as a continuous flow of sound, and I hate playing just one track out of something, or putting it on repeat.

Currently I listen to a lot of Delta Heavy, Deadmau5 and Pendulum. not as much these days, but then again, im always busy now.

No way in the world I could narrow it down to a single song.. So let's just say my favourite song for these few days :). It's from 2008, I heard it on the radio yesterday and realised I had forgotten all about it and how good it was, and have been hammering it since.

As for genres: anything but pop.

I'll try to break down my favorite genre-bangers right now, but I'm actively seeking moar drum and bass!

That said, drum and bass begins the first one...
DNB) Tech Itch & Kemal - The Calling VIP
Standard House) Jimpster - Inside The Loop
    Electro House) Deadmau5 - Strobe
    Techno) Ken Ishii - Extra
Dubstep) Pixel Fist - Clean Slate

Bass Metal) Nine Inch Nails - The Hand That Feeds (Zardonic Remix)
Industrial Alternative) Nine Inch Nails - We're In This Together
    Metal) Fear Factory - Demanufacture

My mind suffered a little outage there, but it'll kick back up... Note these are actually select picks that snared me into the genre, not favorites.

Uncollected notables that allowed me to discover electronic music:
    + My IDM pick
+ Daft Punk - Da Funk (not Around The World)
    + Underworld - Cowgirl (not Pearl's Girl)
    + My Techno pick
+ Squarepusher - My F#[email protected] Sound (not Come On My Selector)
+ Aphex Twin - Ventolin (not Come to Daddy, in fact I didn't even see it during the short on-air lifespan, only the nets)
+ Photek - The Hidden Camera

What exponentially increased my like for electronic music:
    + Sub Focus - X-Ray, Sub Focus - Scarecrow
    + D.A.V.E the Drummer - Hydraulix (a.k.a. Hydraulix 09)
+ Commander Tom - Are Am Eye?
+ Spicelab - We Got Spice

    Added 18 Nov 2014:

What essentially lured me into electronic music discovery in the 90s:
+ Underworld - Pearl's Girl (Motion Picture Soundtrack "The Saint")
+ Moby - Honey (On the same album as Porcelain and South Side)
+ Fatboy Slim - The Rockafeller Skank (Same album as Right Here, Right Now)
+ Fatboy Slim - Gangster Trippin' (MTV had a cut of that track playing)
    + Orbital - The Box pt. 2
+ Aformentioned IDM pick (but in video version)
+ Daft Punk - Around The World
+ Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You

What sealed the deal later on:
+ Cosmic Gate - Fire Wire (DJ Scot Project Remix)
    + Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400
    + Darude - Sandstorm
    + Aphex Twin - Disc 2 Track 1 (Selected Ambient Works 2)
+ Aphex Twin - Vordhosbn (Drukqs)
+ Squarepusher - Do You Know Squarepusher
+ Annagrace (as Ian van Dahl) - Castles In The Sky
    + Push - Strange World (2000 Remake)
+ Drax Ltd. II - Amphetamine (both the original and 2001 Remake)
+ Moogwai - Viola (Original Mix)

And finally, the big man responsible for snaring me into Drum and Bass: Andy C. with the Nightlife series.
    (end addon)

Electronic music is quite diverse. But I like my fair-share of non electronic. RIP Wayne Static.

I had a question, "Do you like EDM?" I answered as honestly as possible -- EDM is electronic music, but the particular name itself -- it's prepared for big dancefloors. As such, the "EDM" of today consists of drop-based beats, which .. in my opinion .. can easily bore you if it's the same mechanic found in a series of tracks in sequence. There's no variety. The sequence is the same :(

That said, my original post is getting some updates with songs that lured me into electronic music.

EDIT: I am in no way saying that I hate drop-based music -- I do enjoy it, but in moderation. If I hear a long series of tracks with drop-based mechanics, I get bored easily, both me and my ears. Sorry for any confusion.

EDIT 2: Most people are doing genre crossovers nowadays. We have Spor (who is now Feed Me) and Ewun (who is now Kill The Noise), both who went from Drum and Bass to Electro House... it appears now that Steve Aoki is going to do Deep House under another alias now. I haven't yet heard any new Ewun stuff, but Feed Me is currently in the works to release more Spor material.

Aoki said he doesn't plan to give up working on stuff under his own name though.

Who else did a genre crossover, provided they are (1) not part of a group to begin with and (2) contemplating releasing stuff on their old alias?

(This leaves out Pendulum and Knife Party)
