This covers five planets in my scfi universe that have troubled conditions.
Harshest worlds
"Paradise"
Type toxic faelon class faelon world in this universe are high radioactive levels
Technically considered a moon of a Jupiter like world. At first it's temperature of 20c and size similar to earth.
However this is were the similarities end with no water no life and a high radioactive presence due to its prominently to it's host world. Making maters worse the moon is rabidly volcanic and has an absolutely toxic atmosphere. with the air being florine and chlorine with small amounts of argon.
This planet doesn't kill you because of
Despite this life still exists in the upper clouds were the water is it remains forever microbial.
Frectan
Type wasteland of the dead aka white dwarf world
Some billion years ago this was the home of the ancient race known as the sun's. The star was a large fv0 with a shorter lifespan than the sun but the UV radiation caused rapid evolution. However shortly after there civilization fell the star was force feed enough material to go nova.
Leaving all life here to perish leaving behind a cold but charred sinder. Still with the crumbing ruins collapsing. This would leave the planet a site of massive interest if not for the drougers
The drougers look like a stone but are living creatures who feed on the blood of intelligent creatures. When infected the person will go to the drouger at any cost. To sit there and you can guess what happens.
Because of this the planet is only explored by exo archeologist who have heavily armed weapons such as the Crocodile a sniper that can punch though even the toughest of armor.

Faelon/proxima cenari
Type anomaly garden world.
Faelon is a close orbiting titally locked planet that shouldn't have an atmosphere but does due to a misterous monolith making new molecules out of interstellar dust. Not only that but all plants in this system have this witch when all aligned renovations a star that will live for trillions of years even without this.
What makes the world troubled is it's day time side is to hot leaving a night of earth like conditions. However powerful X-rays that help life evolve are let in still. Normally most life has much better cell repairing but if you're a human it's like standing where Chernobyl sarcophagus is

Lack of air no you die from drowning in your own blood as you try to gasp for air but you can't. Btw this is also the same way mars kills you.
