WOF expert mode is stupid

I has all my weapons on the best modifiers (nights edge, sunfury, mini shark, imp staff for extra chip dmg) I have the shield of Cthulhu but I don’t use it because every time I dash to the left the wof brings me in and phases me through blocks and kills me so I use the band of regen instead, i also have the obby shield, terra spark boots, feral claws and the sandstorm horseshoe balloon 3 of them have warding other 2 have menacing, I have all the necessary buffs that a Melee would use (I have also thought about getting summoning potions) but i still can’t defeat the wof I have the campfires the heart lanterns and the bridge what am I doing wrong?

Hard to say with just text describing what you're doing. Lot of the bosses are, sadly, not very melee friendly. Might have to switch to a bow/gun or cheese it with a -lot- of beenades (or the star cannon).
