I was playing Terraria early yesterday morning just fine, and then once trying to play later in the afternoon suddenly my world is not coming up, I suspect that it got corrupted somehow. Here's all the info:
PC, windows 10.
Version 1.4.0.4
World saved to steam cloud (I understand now that I should keep files locally)
No updates or changes was made to my PC in that time between play sessions.
I use Host & Play to play with my friends.
World just gets stuck on "Starting Server..."
When loading from single player, it says "Load Failed"
I click load from backup and it says "No Backup"
I have a wld file in the games folder after unchecking the save to cloud box in-game, but I do not have a bak file whatsoever, and I have checked my steam/backups folder as well.
Is it even possible to get my world file back at this point?
