PC Would Terraria 2 be a good idea?

Terraria 2 is speculated to be in development but is it really a good idea. What will it mean for og Terraria and do you think it should become a game? Will the release of Terraria 2 mean that there will be less updates and bug fixes for Terraria 1? Comment your thoughts below. My evidence for Terraria 2: https://terraria.wiki.gg/Terraria_2

No Terraria 2 yet. Probably not until 2021 or 2-3 years after the last major Terraria update; whichever comes later.
There have been a flood of Terraria and Minecraft clones of varying quality and the market has been saturated with games about playing with blocks. It would be very hard for a new game to break into the market now. Clearly the developers are still invested in Terraria - perhaps 1.4 will be what they consider their crowning achievement and leads them to label Terraria as finished. Perhaps there will be a 1.5. We don't know.

Too early and Terraria 2 risks having the reputation of "Terraria with a 2 in its title". It won't damage Terraria 1, but it'll damage itself.​

Instead, wait a few years after Terraria's last update. Then release Terraria 2! It'd feel like something new and fresh. Pull it off well and Terraria 2 will explode in popularity. But yes, when Terraria 2 is released, support for Terraria aside from major bug fixes will come to an end.
