Biomes & Nature [Sprites] -The Cyber- a worthy adversary for the Crimson

YES Tobbvald! It may be remixed but I would recognize Sanctuary Fortress anywhere!:passionate::dryadpassionate::joy::joy: 100% support now this inspired something we need a Rezbit enemy with some sort of hacked debuff that way their legacy can live on (we are so lucky the Ing didn't poses these guys in game)

you should lower the chance and make it only drop one mandible.
Because the Devourer is an uncommon enemy and it drops a lot because of that, but blood crawlers are common and dropping that much doesn't seem balanced..

Very interesting. Took me a few days to read though all the posts. I hope I remember everything right.

For one thing, I do like the additions to the crimson. It should have gotten it's own sand & bottled water and I was surprised when it didn't originally get a hard mode boss in the 1.2 update. The Wrath of the Gods is also looks nice, though I hope it the True Wrath of the Gods could be crafted into the Terra Blade.

I have always loved scifi elements in a number of shows, movies, and games. I wouldn't mind getting the Cyber added. It is in ways the opposite of the Hollow. I have been watching the anime A Certain Magical Index, and that makes me thing of magic vs science. Depending on how you look at it the Crimson is the opposite of the Corruption. The Corruption makes me think of death and disease what the germs and parasites. The Crimson on the other hand makes my think of a live body. A living body has many things moving around inside of it and Ichor was the blood of immortals. So where the Crimson and Corruption could be though of life vs rot and the Hollow and Cyber could be though of magic vs science.

I also like how the Cyber looks. I'm a big fan of robots and have watch the different versions of Transformers and was interested their metal home world. I also more tech looking items like furniture and armor. I was very happy when they added the Teleporters and the Steampunker. I had even made a list of furniture I though would be fun. The trees are also pretty cool.

That said I do have some concerns. I know that is was meant to be the opposite of the Crimson (Order & Chaos), at least as much as the Hollow is the opposite of the Corruption (Light and Dark). Still it think it's better if like with the ore it's random which one you can and not just in every world with the Crimson. I know I'm not the only one who thinks that but I realize that would present a problem. Like with the HM ores you wouldn't know which you have until you get to hard mode. I know how troubling that can be. I wasn't able to get Palladium until the fishing update and I still can't find a pyramid. So if you are looking for one and invested a lot of time building your base pre-hard mode you could be out of luck. I do like the World Generation Option and Customizing Your World ideas as possible solutions.

Another thing is the boimes converting the pre-hard mode ore into the new ore. It's one thing where they act like Chlorophyte ore, spawning and spreading on their own, but converting the older ore is another story. I know there is lots of ore in a wold but if you use the powder or Clentaminator on it? Changing stone, sand, and grass is one thing as there is only one thing it can turn into for each type, but what about the 8 types of ore it can convert? I'm not to knowledgeable about coding but would it know what to turn them back, especially after it had been mined, stacked, and placed again.

Unless they Devs have been working on this for months without telling us there is now way this will be in 1.3. Still it might be nice for it to be added in a future update. All in all I have to say I give it about 80% support. I can see you put a lot of work into it and I love the art.

We need this!1.3! dont let us down.nah just joking. it would be awesome if it was implemented though!
The wealth of new places to explore if this and the other great alternate biome suggestions on the forums were added would definitely make 1.3 an update to remember. Then again, based on what they've only hinted at so far, it's gonna really be something either way.

After some discussion in another thread of mine, I came to the conclusion that Crimson worlds should have their own variety of Possessed Armor.
Possessed_Armor.png
index.php

I felt like I should post this here, because this thread also deals with Crimson variants of entities that are obviously Corruption-themed.

I'm not sure if you mentioned this.
But will the true wrath of the gods and the true expurgatory make the terra blade?

Have I kept your interest this far? Good, now I can tell you some of the more technical changes.

All non biome specific crafting recipes would work with their alternate items. For example Greater healing potions could be made with Miracle Fuel and a Beam Reactor.

I included a core for the destroyer. This would be possible to get (and make it possible to get things like the Megashark in crimson or the Chainsword in corruption)

If you bring Cyber & Crimson over to over to a Hallowed & Corruption world the enemies will drop their respective souls. If you bring Hallowed & Corruption in a Cyber & Crimson world they will do the same with cores.

The Dryad has some slightly different lines in crimson and cyber worlds. being more about restoring the world to total purity rather than hallow.

The Drax and Pickaxe Axe require Souls of Blight to craft.

Spatial Instability

duration: Continuous
cause: Holding space and down while equipped with Spatial Instability Device.
notes:
* while in effect the player is transparent I.E. Spectre armour, they also create lots of particles of the same look as the Nanites flask.

Also, the Phasesabers need unique looks to tell them apart from phaseblades. Instead of recolours would all get unique sprites:

If I think of anymore changes I'll post them here.

this is an awesome biome idea great job with the sprites

I think a Flashing Brick (dropped by Flashing Slimes which spawn when it is raining) that causes water to keep getting brighter and darker would be nice.
