Well, I can't really see a way to improve them. They look great to me. And what do you mean make an avatar with them? Do you mean something like this?

Ok, I have it. I would like a female mob that appears to be made of molten rock. She would have orange glowing hair and eyes and a body that appears to have a built in dress (still made of molten rock ) with lava flow patterns on it. Sorry if this is to completed, it's for a suggestion. Also, it would be great if you could sprite an achievement to go with it. The achievement would show an underground background with a heart covered in dripping lava in the center.

The achievement is good, It might look better if all the blue/purple pixels were gone (unless you meant to add them).
