  • What is the acceptable time threshold for spacing between AMA plugs

I was thinking TLPW. My personal guess is once a week, but...

The best place to put it would be in your signature, that way it'd be below every one of your posts. I don't know if I could really advise that you continiously plug your AMA in a single or multiple threads even if its in the off-topic section. If you really must then once a week is probably sensible enough but I can't say that we wouldn't ask you to stop.

I plug it way less than once a week.
It is in my signature, though.
    Have you played Deltarune/Undertale before?
If so, what is your favorite boss? (I really like Asgore and Spamton)

Unfortunately no, I tried to play Undertale a good while back after the hype died down but was immedietly put off by people sending me spoiler messages like "Have you done this yet?". Other than that I've seen bits and pieces from friends, like Spamton... but I don't know enough to pick a favourite.
Since then I've hidden my game status on Steam :guidesigh:.

Kelp, I personally think in wouldn't be a terrible idea to try again at some point.
I think both games are pretty good, though I definetly think a bunch of people sending spoilers is such a fashion could really fester an aversion to it.
I can't promise it'd be perfect, (and the community itself is... Something,) but overall it might prove to be worth it to try it again at some point.
You do have a pretty valid reason for not having really done so, so no pressure! Completely up to you!
Greetings, I come to ask a question:
At what point is it considered for a user to be spamming profile posts? What is the treshold for that?
For reference, I'm a frequent poster myself, but I usually leave one hour gaps at the minimum. If I feel "unsafe" with that at a given point, I usually wait for my last profile post to be pushed to the second page of the "latest profile posts" section in the "what's new" menu.

If it ever reaches the point of being spam then you'll be notified first - It won't result in immediate warning points or limits unless you've been asked several times already.

As for the exact point, it varies and depends on current user activity. Calling it "disruptive" would be more apt than spamming I suppose. If your posts are taking up half of the pages and pushing other users fairly recent posts back then its probably time to slow down. Most people should be fine if they just give it some thought but it's really not a big deal if we have to remind you once or twice as long as you listen.

The fact that you're making the conscious decision to "leave gaps" and to "step back" when you feel you're posting too often tells me that you're unlikely to offend, feel free to even post a little more as long as you keep that mindset. Most cases of spam/disruptive posting have a lot less thought behind them, usually people are either excited, angry or unfamiliar with forums and post a shotgun of messages in quick succession - Like going to every developer profile to recommend their suggestion one after the other, every day.

    Noted, thank you.
    I have a theory.
It feels like you've been online more often.
Summer vacation, for most kids, has begun/is beginning.
This gives most kids a lot more free time, to say, be on the forums.
You're 31 years old, and joined the forums in 2014.
Let's do the math. 13 is the minimum age to join the forums. You're 31. (according to your TCF profile) 31-13=18.
Due to the fact that 13 years ago, you were just old enough to either have a kid or adopt a kid, I have a theory.
My theory is that you have a child who recently turned 13 and are slowly preparing to pass down your account to them, and this preparation has entered it's later stages and that is why you are on more, because you have a 13 year old child who you are planning to give your account to, and due to summer vacation they're online more!
(This theory is a joke, I don't actually believe this.)
Happy birthday! Thanks for all you do for the forum :dryadparty:
Happy birthday hopefully it’s a good one
    Oh, happy birthday.
I still wonder how people know that it's others birthdays...
hope you have a good birthday!
Happy Birthday! Thanks for working as a moderator on these forums!
Where did you get your profile picture?

Documentary channel. Had been watching an episode on marine biology which focused primarily on plant life and discovered Terraria a couple of days later. After reading in to the game a little bit I decided to join the IRC (an old chatroom) and needed a name - I've always been horrible with names so I just used the first simple word which came to mind - Kelp. Shortly after this the original forum (which was initially a fan-forum) cropped up and I made an account there as well, so the name stuck.

I love learning the lore behind peoples names. Mine is from the good ol MC. I was thinking of a name, and I thought, hey my middle name is awfully similar to Molten, and do you know what is Molten? Lava! So that is how I got my gamer name, and I have used it since.
Do you play modded Terraria? If so what is your favorite mod?

Never, I much prefer the Vanilla experience but there's been a few that have interested me. There have been a couple of "RPG" mods which strove to change how the game works or progresses as a conceptual level, going as far as adding things like level progression, unique quests etc but I believe only one of them actually released proper, and may have stopped development entirely.

Another interesting one which is fairly new is "TerraTCG" which you can find a thread for here or on the tModLoader Workshop. There's a bunch of good
    cosmetic mods as well.

Put short, I don't like anything that changes the balance of the game like Calamity. I enjoy the vanilla progression too much :)

I can understand why you don't like mods that shake up the vanilla balance. Have you played Thorium, by chance? I have heard that the mod keeps the games balance while adding cool stuff.

I haven't no, but I do know of it. I suppose it would be better to say that I'm generally not a fan of many (if any, none come to mind) modded bosses or equipment tiers. Things get a little too crazy for my liking, its just my personal preference.
Do different moderators generally focus on doing one thing and not intruding on another's? I can't think of any examples, but it is like one moderator keeps watch over a certain area, and the others watch over other areas, and don't usually interrupt each other.

Some of the team preferred to watch certain places back when the forum was more active but that was their own choice - we don't assign areas and communicate constantly. Occasionally (rarely) we do accidentally deal with something while someone else is working on it but it tends to be the small things like putting discussion back on-track.
