    Documentary channel. Had been watching an episode on marine biology which focused primarily on plant life and discovered Terraria a couple of days later. After reading in to the game a little bit I decided to join the IRC (an old chatroom) and needed a name - I've always been horrible with names so I just used the first simple word which came to mind - Kelp. Shortly after this the original forum (which was initially a fan-forum) cropped up and I made an account there as well, so the name stuck.

    I love learning the lore behind peoples names. Mine is from the good ol MC. I was thinking of a name, and I thought, hey my middle name is awfully similar to Molten, and do you know what is Molten? Lava! So that is how I got my gamer name, and I have used it since.

    Do you play modded Terraria? If so what is your favorite mod?

    Never, I much prefer the Vanilla experience but there's been a few that have interested me. There have been a couple of "RPG" mods which strove to change how the game works or progresses as a conceptual level, going as far as adding things like level progression, unique quests etc but I believe only one of them actually released proper, and may have stopped development entirely.

    Another interesting one which is fairly new is "TerraTCG" which you can find a thread for here or on the tModLoader Workshop. There's a bunch of good
    cosmetic mods as well.

    Put short, I don't like anything that changes the balance of the game like Calamity. I enjoy the vanilla progression too much :)

    I can understand why you don't like mods that shake up the vanilla balance. Have you played Thorium, by chance? I have heard that the mod keeps the games balance while adding cool stuff.

    I haven't no, but I do know of it. I suppose it would be better to say that I'm generally not a fan of many (if any, none come to mind) modded bosses or equipment tiers. Things get a little too crazy for my liking, its just my personal preference.

    Do different moderators generally focus on doing one thing and not intruding on another's? I can't think of any examples, but it is like one moderator keeps watch over a certain area, and the others watch over other areas, and don't usually interrupt each other.

    Some of the team preferred to watch certain places back when the forum was more active but that was their own choice - we don't assign areas and communicate constantly. Occasionally (rarely) we do accidentally deal with something while someone else is working on it but it tends to be the small things like putting discussion back on-track.

    It's unfortunately not as active as it used to be seeing as Discord has kind of taken over when it comes to people finding communities. Regardless we make sure that this remains a friendly and safe place for those who want to be part of it, fortunately the majority of people don't really cause any problems. Those who do usually realise where they went wrong and act nicer next time.
