Never with grades in particular, but when a situation like that arises, I just usually say "too bad, I'm doing something about it anyways." I refuse to become discouraged, and I try to stay Determined, and push through. When you're able to pull something like that, it is very gratifying, and it's like saying, "HAH! And you thought you could keep me down!"

I don't know, I'm sure not everyone thinks that way, but, that's my way of thinking.
