You could have backed them up somewhere else if you were concerned that they were in danger of being deleted. Regardless, it's nice to know that your files are intact.

Terraria's World files are stored in the documents folder, not your steam directory, so you can uninstall and reinstall the game as much as you like, and your files worlds will always be there.

Last time that happened that wasn't the case. It glitched and reset my files. That's why I was so wary about it. Turned out fine though
