Red blue and green are primary colors. I doubt there's any relation. Unless Red is calling the PPG's tools.

I actually did some research, there seems to be a debate whether its blue, red, and green or red, blue and yellow.

Same here actually, but I think I know why.
When you look at the color spectrum, white is an absence of color, and so is black really, hence why space is black.
But, when you look at a light spectrum, white is all the colors combined. I think blue, red, and green is for the light spectrum, and blue, red, and yellow is for solid colors.

Green is made with blue and yellow, tho.
