NPCs & Enemies A new npc named the martian merchant

Amtheminer

Terrarian
This new npc only spawns after completing the martian madness event, after said event a tool tip will state "you hear a loud crash far in the distance". To find it, you must look for small flames on the ground, indicating a crash site is nearby. Upon reaching said site, you will find what looks to be a crashed martian saucer mini-boss. The only thing thats different is it looks more worn down and seems to have undergone many alterations and modifications as if it was either stolen or very old and out dated, almost as if its just ready to fall apart.

Next to the ship you will find the unconscious martian laying a few blocks away. You must speak to it to wake it up after which it will state that after the event, its ship was struck by a fallen star, causing the ship to lose balance and fall from the sky. But due to it being a martian, you cant understand its language and this upsets the martian. This is proven due to the fact the crashed ship has a massive hole punched through it.

It will then try to ask you to help it repair their ship and as a thanks on doing so, will gladly trade with the player upon completion of its tasks. It will ask for certain resources to help repair the damaged ufo.

There are 3 stages, each requiring pre-hard mode and hardmode materials like iron/lead and titanium/adamantite. Its names are either the names of comets, small moons, or astroids. Upon completing the final stage, it will give you 100 of an unknown metal that only the martian knows what it is. This "metal" cannot be burned and the guide has no idea what its used for. But this metal is used to make a special translator device that is crafted at a hardmode anvil. Upon making the device, you then return it to the martian via the quest button when talking to it. It will then state his name and will thank you for making this device so that it can do business with you and will repeat how it crashed in the first place.

It will then return to its ship and fly off and will periodically return to sell stuff and remain there for 3 in-game days, after which it will fly off. It will not return during events that effect the day and night such as a solar eclipse or a frost moon. Since the translation device is only craftable upon completing the final stage, this means it cannot speak english and only speaks martian. Because of this, he can only give you a item that lists the current stage's list of required materials.

The list of items it can sell includes:
Martian plating, a tesla staff which summons a tesla turret that works very similarly to the martian madness tesla coil, vanity depending on the moon phase, a crafting station called a martian fabricator that turns martian plating into furniture and other tiles like doors and platforms, a 1/8 chance to sell a probe that will light the area in front of it and will face the direction the cursor is pointing at, a 1/9 chance to sell a tripod mount that can shoot lasers (albeit, weak and slow lasers), a 1/20 chance to sell the martian hover pack (that allows the player to hover automatically and fly indefinitely, but is slow, has to accelerate to reach top speed, and has inertia), and a 1/5 chance to sell a martian hook with the same reach as the dual hook, but is faster and emits light.

After defeating moon lord, It will sell a martian merger addon that must be combined with the tinkerers workshop at a hardmode anvil to make the martian workshop. This station will not only combine accessories, but it will also reforge tools and can only give positive modifiers, but at a steeper price and has a 1/3 chance to not give or change modifiers.

This npc will defend itself with a weaker and slower version of the laser rifle. This npc will enter its ship at night time making it invincible during this time.
Feel free to ask questions.

I have a few questions about this idea.

1. How would you know to fix the ship if you can't understand them?
2. Is this "Martian Plating" Martian Conduit Plating?
3. Why would we need a Martian Fabricator if Martian furniture can already be crafted with existing crafting stations?
4. Would the Martian Hover Pack be similar to the Cosmic Car Key?
5. Are you aware that the Anti-Gravity Hook exists?

1. He realizes you cant understand him so he gives you an item that lists the materials needed. They are labeled 1 through 3.
2. Yes i forgot the name.
3. The martian fabricator uses less martian conduit plating for the same items
4. The hover pack is an inferior version to the cosmic car key, and is to be a substitute for the cosmic car key if you arent having any luck farming martian saucers and is intended to be replaced by the cosmic car key. The hover pack is technicaly a wing item and not a mount. But as stated its slow and not made for speed and more for building in tight spaces as the hover pack has no hit box.
5. Yes but this hook is twice as fast and is intended for dodging because of this speed.
Hopes this clears things.

Though this idea could be improved a little, I do agree there should be a post-Golem npc, and a Martian Madness themed npc seems cool.
