The development of this is not plausible or feasible in Terraria's current situation. While I can definitely see the benefits of such a system, something to keep in mind each version (mobile, console, PC, etc.) differs vastly from it's other counterparts. Relogic has in house-development for the PC but uses Pipeworks Studios for the mobile and console ports. They are not one to one reflections of each other unfortunately. The console and mobile versions are significantly behind in updates when compared to the PC's version.
So it would be very unlikely for this to happen for a wide variety of reasons.
