Hiya Terrarians!
In this thread, I'm going to be posting some of my completed
Wave Banks and Sound file packs for Terraria to spice up your gameplay!

I will ALSO be taking requests from people who would like me to make them a custom wavebank or sound pack!

So read on to find the wavebanks, sound packs, and more!

Q: What the heck is a wavebank?

A: A wavebank, is a file with the extension ".xwb" that, (in this case), contains a track list with all the music files for Terraria! By modifying this file, you can change the music in the game to whatever you want!


Q: What the heck is a Sound Pack?

A: A Sound Pack is a collection of .xnb files that together control all the sound effects for Terraria! By modifying these files, you can change the in-game sound effects to whatever you want!


Q: Will these additions work with modded Terraria?

A: Absolutely! They should work perfectly fine with any version of Terraria. Unfortunately however, I cannot modify the custom music or sound effects that are part of the mods themselves.


Q: How do you install a new wavebank?

A: It's pretty simple, even if you don't know much about computers.
  1. Locate the folder that you installed Terraria to. (It's the one with the file "Terraria.exe" in it!)
  2. Once in this folder, open the "Content" folder.
  3. Make a backup of the original wavebank, by renaming the file, "Wave Bank.xmb" to something like "Wave Bank.old"
  4. Download your new wavebank!
  5. Copy the newly downloaded wavebank to the "Content" folder.
  6. That's it! You have just modded all the music in Terraria!
To return the music to its original state, simply remove the new wavebank, and change the "Wave Bank.old", back to "Wave Bank.xmb". :)


Q: How do you install a new Sound Pack?

A: It's pretty simple, but just a bit harder than installing a wavebank.
  1. Locate the folder that you installed Terraria to. (It's the one with the file "Terraria.exe" in it!)
  2. Once in this folder, go into the "Content" folder.
  3. Now, back up the "Sounds" folder, by copying it to your desktop or other secure location on your computer.
  4. Download your new Sound Pack!
  5. Copy the newly downloaded Sound Pack to the "Content" folder.
  6. That's all! Your new sound pack is installed and ready to be heard when you start the game!
To return the game sound effects to their original state, you will have to remove each of the downloaded sounds and replace them with the old ones you backed up. The simplest way to do this is to delete the entire "Sounds" folder and replace it with the one you had backed up.


Q: Can anyone do this?

A: Of course! You just have to follow one of these handy-dandy guides!


Q: If anyone can do this, then why should I request for you to make one?

A: The creation can be confusing and tedious at times. I'm here to do the work so you don't have to! In exchange, I get something to do in my spare time, and I get my name out there a little more. :happy:


Q: How do I make a request?

A: Simple! Just copy the track list below, and type the composer/artist followed by the song you want beside each entry you want me to change! For example:

2. Eerie (Meteor, Blood Moon)

Turns into:

1. Night = Eddie Money - Take Me Home Tonight
2. Eerie (Meteor, Blood Moon) = The Excorcist - Tubular Bells

Only if you want that track played for that particular song. :) Just copy-paste the track list, then line up all the songs you would like me to put in. I'll take care of the rest!
For example, if you wanted the Michael Myers theme to play during the blood moon, you would just type:

If you can't find the composer, I can try and help with that too. :happy:

And yes. Those five bosses ALL have to be the same music... It stinks I know :p

Sorry for the late response, but I got it done now.:D Was making my own wavebank and wondered if it had to be specific with the names. Thanks for your help though! :happy:
 
I do happen to have a request, and I already have the audio files downloaded, although they are .mp3's...

I tried doing the process myself, but Visual Studio kept cluttering up my computer's hard drive and for some reason XNA wouldn't recognize it.

Would it be okay if I sent you the downloaded music so you could make the wavebank?

One more thing. Do either of you have a specific name for your Wave Banks that you'd like me to add? Or should I just call them "Overcast_Prime/Smooooth Jazz custom Wavebank"?
 
That's it! Both banks are complete as requested! Any title ideas guys? Or should I just make something up?
