The Celestial Shell is one of the most powerful lategame accessories in Terraria. It provides boosts to most notable stats and even boosts them further at night. It’s such a good all-rounding accessory that many veterans will say any build that doesn’t use it is missing out.
However, there is an insidious and catastrophically minor issue that makes it worse than the infinitely less cool Celestial Stone in some niche situations! Obviously, this cannot stand, and should be addressed with the utmost haste and priority.
The issue lies with Neptune’s Shell. This item provides water mobility and breathing. How could this possibly be a bad thing? It’s a minor bonus, sure, but at least it doesn’t provide a downsi-

Allow me to explain:
A fair assessment, but that’s not the issue.
The issue is, Neptune’s shell disables flipper potion entirely in any liquid that is not lava.
And that’s just not acceptable for an accessory to do! This is like if Terraspark Boots disabled Obsidian Skin Potions while they were worn!
So please, please, please make Flipper Potion override Neptune’s Shell’s movement instead of the other way around, thereby removing the only downside of Celestial Shell. The Celestial Stone should never be an upgrade!

Allow me to explain:
- Flipper Potion effectively provides infinite double jumps underwater at a decent speed which can be increased further by items like Shiny Red Balloon and Frog Leg, while Merfolk must simply “swim” upwards at a snail’s pace which cannot be increased in any way.
- Flipper Potion works in all liquids, while Merfolk must still move slow as molasses in anything that isn’t water. This is especially problematic when trying to swim in Honey.
