Terrarian
Hi, can somone help me pls ? I want to defeat plantera but i want your opinion on what weapon, accesories and armor u recomand me to use to take down this boss

If you can access the true nights edge or true Excalibur, it would be ideal. Actually, if you are willing to grind natural solar eclipses you can get the Terrablade. Best armor is either Chlorophyte with the Mask, or Turtle Armor. You should be able to access Resistance, iron skin, and heart reach potions by this point, note these potions require fishing which can be tedious. Accessories definitely wings, besides that is up to you wanting either defense or damage. If you reforge all your accessories to warding yo get a min armor bonus of 20.

This only describes the Melee class, but as a Melee player I will say this is still very beneficial. I generally prefer the True Excalibur, especially because not only does it have slightly higher base damage, it doesn’t have an annoying slow projectile like the True Night’s Edge does. Plus the whoosh is cool. Also remember to put Sunflowers in your arena, too — they give you the “Happy” buff when you’re within the proximity of them, which decreases enemy spawn rates (which is extremely helpful and also gives you a 17% movement speed bonus)

Although I’m not really sure about if you’re any of the three other classes.

For ranger on plantera, I recommend the chlorophyte armour set (with the helmet), the flamethrower and/or the chlorophyte shotbow (with holy arrows). Megashark with crystal bullets is also pretty good, especially if you have a method of inflicting the ichor debuff. Don't worry about the chlorophyte armour being a "waste" of chlorophyte, since you can use the shimmer to decraft it and get the bars back when you make shroomite armour later. For accessories I would use (each row corresponds to an accessory slot):
bee/bat/butterfly/flame wings or jetpack
lightning boots (or upgrades) or amphibian boots
ranger emblem (could also replace this with any of the below if more survivability is needed)
magic quiver (if using shotbow) or moon stone (if using this, need to fight at night) or avenger emblem or charm of myths
star veil or a knockback immunity accessory (to make it harder for her to trap you in a corner)
shield of cthulhu (if expert+)
worm scarf/brain of confusion (if master+).

worm scarf is expert+, not master+, but the rest of this is very correct, and i plan on using a loadout like this in my ranger playthrough

Thank you so much! I realise I have all these items. I even think I'm ready. Just one question, is hallowed armor or chlorophite armor better ?

Hallowed armour's set bonus is solid, as it blocks one hit for you every 30 seconds. Chlorophyte has overall better stats and the set bonus adds a decent amount of damage. Plantera tends to kill you with many small hits rather than a few big ones (reducing the value of the hallowed set bonus), so I think chlorophyte is overall better for the fight (though hallowed is still a good choice).

There's lots of options, but I find that using chlorophyte armor is alright, and suprisingly enough the chlorophyte shotbow with holy arrows is a really decent option for a weapon, but a Megashark works well, too. As for accessories, a ranger emblem and mechanical emblem, and the rest is up to you.
Don't forget your buffs, too!

Question: are Chlorophyte Arrows good enough too?

Ichor arrows are also a cheap and powerful option for arrows (they also emit light, which is nice), but chlorophyte is pretty good, since the bouncing they have actually auto targets enemies (plus both of those arrow types let you skip using the magic quiver, since the main benefit of the item is the increased arrow velocity). Holy arrows are king on bosses that are big and either slow moving or can be dodged by moving only vertically (plantera is one of these fights). The velocity increase from the quiver does not affect jester's, ichor, chlorophyte, venom, and luminite arrows (since they already have the high velocity perk).

I agreed with the rest, but I don't think Chlorophyte arrows are all that great here. The arrows lose 33% of their damage after bouncing, and Plantera is one of the easiest bosses in the game to hit since she is so slow and large; using them seems like a detriment compared to everything else listed.

As for my own recommendation for the original post, I recommend a flamethrower for first phase and Megashark with High Velocity bullets for second. Flamethrower can push out some crazy DPS and Megashark/High Velocity's piercing and range really help for second phase, where she fills the space around her with tanky minions. Ignore the adds and use the range to your advantage

I was kind of speaking in general with the arrow recommendations, and I agree that chlorophyte arrows aren't very worth it against plantera. Flamethrower has pretty good piercing so you could just use it for the whole fight, though I guess you might want to keep a bit of distance in phase 2 (though that does come down to personal preference)
