Items Biome Spread Sensors

When enough Evil/Hallow biome blocks are in the proximity of the sensor, it will send a wire signal. This would be very helpful for players wishing to monitor biome spread, especially when used in conjunction with Announcement Boxes. You could have them set up in such a way that if any Corruption/Crimson is near your base or a Pylon, a message will pop up in the chat as a warning!

There would be seperate sensors for each biome; a light-blue sensor for the Hallow, a purple one for the Corruption, a red one for the Crimson, and a sensor that will detect all three. Since the Logic Sensor (Night) is already purple, the biome sensors would be shaped differently for contrast.

Here's some Sensor mockups I made:

Here is what I imagine the crafting recipe could be:

If you see anything in one of the recipes that you think could be improved; please tell me! (I might want to make the Biome Spread Sensor require a smaller number of ingredients.)

Let me know what you think! 🐿️

This is really cool, it doesn’t automate cleansing the biomes, but still helps a lot, very clever idea!

That would be really cool i never notice the Spread of coruption/Crimson until its everywhere

YES. PLEASE.
(though, day/night sensors hooked up to an announcement box don't seem to work for me so I hope they fix that too)

I've added mockup sprites for the Corruption and Crimson sensors:

(With comparison, they kinda make the Hallow sensor look a bit greener than I would like, so I'll go fix it now.)
(EDIT: it has been fixed)
(EDIT 2.0: The corruption sensor on this post was linked to the one at the top of the thread, so I had to add in the old picture.)

I tried making an all-spreading-biomes sensor sprite; is it good?

I made deactivated versions of all the sensors:

(EDIT: Their outer circles have now been made darker for better contrast and man, it looks a lot better now!)

I will admit, I thought the all-biomes one was the hallowed(and the blueish one the purity, for some reason)... they look cool, though!

This is really clever and easy to implement at the same time. I'd love dotting these around my base

I like it, but I feel like the all-biome sensor makes the others obsolete. Surely you won't ever need to sense more than one biome at a time?

(I'm surprised I haven't responded to this)
I certainly see your point; the specific biome sensors wouldn't have much unique practical use outside of very particular situations, like remotely monitoring which infectious biome reaches a location first. I suppose they're easily outshined by the all-biome sensor, but they might fill a niche.

I think biome spread sensors are a good idea. My approval.
