BLASTOFF
A Rocket Launcher Expansion
Steam Page

If you're like me, you've probably wanted to go through the entirety of a Terraria playthrough just with rocket launchers.

Well, now you can! Blastoff adds rocket launchers throughout progression, along with new rockets in the early-game to load them with! Not only that, the mod adds unique mechanics revolving around Rocket self-damage, which now sends you flying and lets you land powerful Ballistic Strikes with close-range weapons!

Rocket Launchers!

Blastoff adds 15 new Rocket Launchers throughout progression!
  • 8 Pre-Hardmode Launchers: Wood Launcher, Big Iron, Briar Bomber (in both Crimson and Corrupt variants!), Bling Bazooka, Pineapple Launcher, Blurite Multibomber, Ash Kicker, Umbra Blaster
  • 7 Hardmode Launchers: Swamp Lizard, Bigger Iron, Mystic Mortar, Judgment, Funky Pineapple Launcher, True Umbra Blaster, Terrannihilator

Rockets!

Several new pre-Hardmode Rockets, some with unique effects!
  • Scrap Rocket I (an early, weak Rocket I craftable with Wood, Gel, and either copper or tin ore or tin cans)
  • In hardmode, upgrades to the Box of Scraps (an infinite-use Scrap Rocket I craftable with a Crystal Ball and 3996 Scrap Rocket Is)
  • Scrap Rocket II (an early, weak Rocket II craftable with Scrap Rocket Is and Bombs at a Heavy Work Bench)
  • Flying Scarab (a rocket crafted with Desert Fossils that creates a directional blast)
  • Ice Sheet (a rocket crafted using an Ice Machine that creats a flatter horizontal blast and inflicts Frostburn)
  • Rainfall Retort (a potion that thinks it's a rocket, crafted from rain clouds and bottled water, which drops rain as it flies)
  • Space Rocket (a rocket crafted with Meteorite and Fallen Stars, it has a bonus to crit rate)

And 1 new Hardmode rocket, obtained from defeating Empress of Light during the day.

Accessories!

6 new Accessories that improve your rockets:
  • Rocketeer's Gunboats: +30% Blast Jump force and cuts Blast Jump damage to 1/4
  • Tungsten Reloader: Increases rocket launcher firing speed by 10%
  • Silver Targeting System: Increases rocket launcher crit chance by 4%
  • Hyperdrive: Increases rocket launcher damage by 5% and speeds up rockets
  • The Rocket Booster: Increases rocket launcher damage and crit chance by 6%, firing speed by 15%, knockback by 20%, and speeds up rockets
  • Stinger Missiles: Rockets have bees in them that inherit a little damage from the rocket (5%, or 8% for big bees)

Blast Jumps!

Self-damage taken from rocket launchers is reduced, but the knockback is drastically increased and can easily send a player airborne.
When launched in the air by a Blast Jump, players take no fall damage from the next fall and have doubled flight time.
The first close-range weapon attack you make during or immediately after a Blast Jump becomes a Ballistic Strike!
Speaking of which...

Ballistic Strikes!

Similar to TF2's Market Gardener, smacking an enemy with a close range Melee weapon or a whip after a rocket jump will hit them with a Ballistic Strike!
Ballistic Strikes always crit (even Whips!), deal boosted damage on top of that, and give you brief invincibility (boostable by the Cross Necklace).
  • Hitting directly with an item always gives a 4x boost with a slight increase based on how slow the weapon is, and grant a 1.33s dodge (similar to a Hallowed Armor dodge). This should affect items that normally wouldn't get the boost, like Thorium's Life Quartz Claymore.
  • Most close-range Melee weapons with vanilla styles (sword auras, spears, flails) and Thorium's Healer Scythes get a 4x final damage boost and 1.33s dodge frames. (I'll work on adding compatibility with more close range weapons later down the line.)
  • Whips and Yoyos have a longer range, so they get a 3.5x final damage boost and 0.67s dodge frames.
  • Jousting Lances have the longer dodge frames, but a much smaller boost. You're already launching yourself at the target with a rocket jump, they don't need that much help.

The mod re-enables self-damage if Calamity is active. (This can be turned off in the Crossmod Config.)

This mod sounds crazy, I can't wait to see people market gardening in terraria. Very very very cool to see rocket launchers get completely changed up! explosives are epic.
