In pretty much all versions of Terraria that are not receiving the 1.3 update, Golem effectively is the "final boss" for the 3DS version. It may be possible to consider Duke Fishron as a Post Golem boss, though it can be fought anytime during hardmode. It's difficulty being higher than the Golem overall.
