NPCs & Enemies buff certain enemies to be more threating in mastermode

vessal

Torch God
currently mastermode is just a more grindy version of expert and i would like to see at least some changes.
jungle bats inflict posion
blood crawlers can now webb you
crabs can now spawn on sand and now inflict broken armor
demon eyes now spit blood dealing 90 damage yes 90 damage for a pre hardmode enemy as the projectile would be very slow moving
face monsters now leave there face behind on death acting as a trap
harpies shoot out 8 feathers and inflict leviation
when a piranha hits you it spawns 1-3 more of them
basic slimes split going like black yellow red purple blue then green upon death.
spiked slimes can naturally spawn.
spiked jungle slimes inflict venom SUFFER
zombies inflict rotting flesh increased damage by 35% but you take 5 damage per second
vultures now drop bones dealing 200 damage on top of your head
arch deamons return now shooting crystals rapidly dealing 120 damage per hit.
araparnina same as piranha
chaos elementals allways drop rod but using it just instantly kills you repeatly
gastropods have there nerf reverted
medusa can spawn in prehardmode like it could in 1.3
all of these seem hellish but thats the point

This would be nice for special seed, I guess. Well, some of this.

These don't seem like Master Mode changes, these seem like secret seed changes. And a lot of them are unnecessarily malicious and unfriendly. I don't support this.

You've made some interesting changes like Spiked Slimes spawning naturally and then some really annoying ones that I wouldn't even recommend adding to FTW. Making the game more annoying/“suffering” doesn't improve player experience. A lot of people play Master Mode for the mounts/pets, making that mode egregious to play is a terrible idea since it is the only way to get those items. GFB creates captivating gameplay and new tactics that you have to figure out, their annoying perks are also funny, this? Not so much.

i agree with some and disagree with others (as said above a lot of them are better as seedlocked stuff), but i do think master mode deserves more
one of the main reasons why i always play classic (apart from me being awful at the game) is because at higher difficulties the game just becomes a dodging simulator, and i (probably a decent amount of other people too) don't really enjoy that

Well yeah, that's the defintion of skill - you just try to not get hit.

I personally play only on Master or Legendary. Expert is too boring for me, I need risk (mediumcore) and challenge (master mode) to feel this game.

Also Classic mode don't have unique items such as Boss Accessories and Master mode mounts.

P.S. if you want to get better at the game try Expert. I tried expert first time in 2017, it was my first time playing Terraria on PC (I've played it on mobile since 2013). And I sucked, a lot. It was hard for me but now even Master Mode is not thar spicy.

eh, for content i just use imports from all my world hopping
i'm not really interested in Terraria at the moment (probably will play more again after 1.4.5 drops) so whatever

Acceptable:
-Spikes slime spawning
-piranha swarming
-blood crawler webs
-Medusa spawning

Maybe:
-Face monster trap
-crab breaking armor
-demon eye projectiles
-Gastropod unnerf
-slime splitting sequence

Denied:
-poisonous bats
-harpy levitation
-jungle slime venom
-zombie rage debuff
-vulture bones
-arch demons return
-amparnina swarm
-RoD chaos

Pretty much the same thoughts as mine but swap the piranhas with crabs for me, piranha spawning could go out of control

I heavily disagree on definition of skill, and if the game in vanilla is too boring for you, will gladly point you in the direction of calamity and fargo's soul. They have built in challenges that I am quite sure would be more than appropriate for an expert such as yourself.

Depends on how many times they can duplicate. If it’s just that each single one turns into three one time, it would work. If each could keep duping in an exponential increase it would be hell.

I hate mods. Even calamity. Never player and probably never will.

Vanilla is tasty for me now. I haven't eaten it yet :)

P.S. and what about skill on Calamity? Same dodge simulator.

As most people stated here, yeah. These should be for an exclusive seed named Kaizo or something. It's just gonna make the game astrociously hard for all the bad reasons. If they were more fair changes, like the Classic to Expert AI changes, plus changes to Invasions and Bosses (the things that should have the largest priority for these), I think it'd be cool. Like. Spiked Slimes spawning naturally and Harpies having more projectiles seems like fair difficulty? But PHM Medusa, Piranha swarms, and Slimes behaving like those radioactive balloons from that one videogame? Feels like the artificial difficulty Kaizo ROM Hackers love doing.

Sort of unrelated but why do mods obssess so much over turning this simple exploration game into a mix of Touhou and Better Than Wolves? As interesting as some things might be it just feels like a contest to see who can make the most infuriatingly hard bossfights and tedious item trees. Like the GD demonlist atp.

My point was that game skill is more than just "not get hit" cause you have people who can stand still and let the game do the work for them. In addition, the game is how technically however you wanna play with whatever rules you want to play by. The skill required to game, is to enjoy it. I had this one friend who went from not understanding anything and disliking it, to learning one or two things and getting really good at the game in a really short time x'D..

A lot of the above stuff being mentioned is stuff that can be found in modded games, and if you've never tried, then you can't comment on whether you like or dislike them. You can assume you would dislike them because you've never bothered with them, but that's a choice *shrug*.

Also, for @AmberedMienfoo , there are several QoL mods that don't modify the game's overall by much. Veinminer lets you clear ore deposits with one swing (time saving), magic storage lets you make an expandable storage that you can chuck literally everything into and access from everywhere in the world. These aren't outrageous mods that make it a bullet hell.

Modding isn't for everyone, but if you blindly assume that it's only how to make a touhou game or as outrageous as possible, well, some of that's right, but not all of it is. It's simply a different way to play.

I am aware of qol mods but I was mostly talking about the BIG mods. I love MagicStorage AlchNPC and all of that but some mods are just ... idk how to describe them just not my liking?

I like most of these and I agree master should NOT be number bloated expert, but these feel just unfair.

You can play this and harder in mods. It would be scary for hardcore players. This would be better for legendary mode or secret seed. Master mode is just multiplied expert with one more slot and mounts.
