Depends, corruption is easier but has weaker loot while the crimson has very annoying enemies to deal with early game but ends up with much stronger benefits in hard-mode like vampire knives and ichor.

I always loved corruption considering i love both the Clinger Staff and the Book of Cursed Flames. I also am a lover of both the Dart Rifle and the Chain Guillotines. Its a biome in which its drops support all classes except summoner. In early hardmode, the crimson doesnt give you a melee weapon with ease, unless you want to go fishing for a somewhat mediocre melee weapon. The corruption mimics give a mage, melee and range option for all players of these classes

It might also just be since i always get Crimson as my random evil biome > <

Crimson will always be better. Better weapons, tools, items, armor, and accessories, and is overall way cooler.

I find that the Corruption fits better into Terraria, but it depends on what class you play. Corruption is pretty good for Melee and Ranger, with Cursed Darts, Chain Guillotines, and more, while the Crimson benefits Summoners a bit with Flesh Knuckles. It really doesn't matter which you choose, but I find the Corruption's loot superior.

It really doesn't matter which you choose, but I find the Corruption's loot superior.

Personally Crimson is better for all classes.
Melee gets Hero Shield, Berserker Gloves, Vampire Knives and Ichor Flasks.
Ranger gets Ichor and Dart Rifle.
Mage gets Life Drain and Golden Shower.
And Summoner gets Berserker Gloves and Ichor Flask

It feels like everyone passes over the Scourge of the Corruptor for Vampire Knives. I personally find it superior since it gives very good long range capabilities and good damage. For Ranger, the Dart Rifle (the Corruption one) is superior due to it doing better against high defense enemies, like, you know, the Mech Bosses? Cursed Darts shred the Destroyer, while Ichor Dart's spread renders its long range DPS quite low. Frozen Shield is superior to Berserker's Shield, but I do agree with some of the others, even though I never use the Golden Shower.

I'm pretty sure Vampire Knives give you a Greater Healing Potion every 5 seconds or something. That's WAY better than a weapon that's basically a rarer Terra Blade (homing for Terra Blade doesn't matter because projectiles are so big). People have cheesed Master Mode Duke Fishron with Vampire Knives.

Isn't Ichor's entire selling point being better than enemies with higher defense? But anyway, I MIGHT check how good both weapons are against a boss like the destroyer. And while the spread makes DPS low long range, it can be an effective choice against a boss like Queen Slime (You'll be pretty close to her).

That's definitely true, but if you don't have Frozen Turtle Shells (which is pretty difficult to get) than this is a good alternative for Melee players.

You should! Golden Shower is great against the twins close range. And the Cursed Flames book looks kinda with it's bad speed.

I believe the point of Ichor is to help low damage weapons, like the Fetid Baghnkhs and Megashark, keep up. It isn't anywhere near as good with high damage weapons.

Oh, I See. I still agree with the general consensus that Ichor is better than Cursed Flames though, especially because DoT can be a bit weak in lots of scenarios against other debuffs.
